Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Commissioner Raquel Regalado to celebrate Gib”SUN” solar project launch at Gibson Plaza on Earth Day

MIAMI ( April 21, 2022 ) — 

On April 22, at 10 a.m. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will celebrate the upcoming installation of a new cool roof and solar panels with battery backup technology at Miami-Dade County’s Gibson Plaza affordable senior housing in Coconut Grove with a press conference at the soon-to-be updated building.

With support from the Leon Lowenstein Foundation, the County’s Department of Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD) and the Office of Resilience have partnered with the Solar Energy Loan Fund (SELF), a non-profit organization and community development financial institution (CDFI) to bring this project to life.
